Nia White Belt Training – Focus: Art of Sensation | Intent: To embody the foundation of Nia
The White Belt is a week for learning all that makes Nia unique and rich. Everything begins with Principle #1 – The Joy of Movement. The principles of this belt focus on the physical realm of the body, learning how to sustain and increase sensation for pleasure and self-healing. The Nia principles are explored through the lens of science, craft and art of the body and movement. Students are introduced to the nine movement forms of Nia: Jazz, Duncan, Modern, Aikido, Tai Chi, Tae Kown Do, The Alexander Technique, The Work of Mocshe Feldenkrais and Yoga. Nia’s proprietary system for music appreciation is introduced at the White Belt along with the 52 Moves of the Nia Technique. You leave ready to take your Nia practice deeper into class and your life and for some a desire to share Nia's joy with others is ignited. We play, explore, learn, laugh and celebrate each person's uniqueness together!
